MISS WORLD NZ TOP MODEL 2009

Instead of having a rehearsal on February 21, the Miss World NZ contestants met up at LINDA 8 Shop at Westfield Manukau, Auckland, to try on some lovely cocktail dresses and evening gowns for the Miss World NZ Top Model Competition which will be held on April 4 at Sky City convention Centre.

The Miss World NZ Top Model competition is one of the pre pageant activities leading up to the final night which will be held on 25th April. Winner of this competition will be fast tracked to the finalist round.

As part of Kahurangi's charity work she will be leaving for Hongkong at the end of this month (October) as a guest of the Hollywood Halloween Charity Dinner event for Variety, the Children's Charity. It will be held on the evening of 31st October at the Kowloon Shangrila. Kahurangi & Miss Australia World, Katie Richardson, are going to talk about their country. They will also attend the Macquarie Lunch Event (before the Bledisloe Cup) where they will be asked to talk about Rugby and assist in the presentation of awards.
Kahurangi will leave on Nov. 15 for Johannesburg, South Africa to represent New Zealand in Miss World 2009 Final competition. The 114 contestants will visit many of South Africa's most beautiful landmarks as part of the Miss World Tour.

Kahurangi was crowned in front of a packed theatre audience at the Dorothy Winstone Centre. It was truly an evening full of extravaganza of entertainment and competitiveness.

This 16 years old (going on 17) will be very busy this year. Her first duty will be to accompany Trustees of the New Zealand Asia Pacific Trust to meet Julia Morley, Ceo of Miss World as she arrives at Auckland International airport on Tuesday May 6 to attend the Variety Club Convention. She will again meet Miss World 2007, Zi Lin Zhang when she arrives to be with Ms. Morley on 10th May. Kahurangi will attend the Variety International Humanitarian Award Dinner on 14th May.

The New Zealand Asia Pacific Trust are 100% behind the Judges decision and the Trustees are quite sure that she will carry her hopes, aspirations and obligations with dignity as befits a young Maori Lady, striding confidently through her 12 month reign.
